The method

Max at the front. The office behind him. A licensed broker signs off every word.

Most brokerages make you repeat your story three times and wait days for a first call. Ours is built so the broker calls you already knowing it, with the first drafts done, and so nothing the machine wrote ever reaches you or a lender without a human reading it first.

  1. 01
    Max, customer service
    Now, any hour

Max listens and shapes the enquiry.

Text or talk. Max asks what happened with the bank, what you want to do, roughly how much and by when, then your name and mobile and your privacy consent in your own words. He works out which broker fits and hands the file over with a reference. He never gives credit advice and never quotes a rate as advice.

  2. 02
    The office
    The same minute

A deal sheet lands in your broker’s inbox.

The moment Max hands over, the office pushes one sheet to your broker: who you are, what you want, what the bank said, the panel lenders whose rules fit your shape ranked by fit, the documents a lender will ask for, and the next step. Behind it the office drafts the readback, fact find, Credit Guide and document request. Every draft is marked as drafted by the office and waits for a human.

  3. 03
    Your licensed broker
    Inside one business day

A human reviews, edits, approves or deletes every word.

Matt or Nick reads the drafts against your file, changes what the office got wrong, deletes what should not go, and calls you with the questions the form could not ask. Nothing reaches you or a lender without that click. That is the law and it is also how we catch mistakes.

  4. 04
    Your licensed broker
    Three to five days

    Assessment, disclosure, then the lender.

Preliminary assessment, the commission disclosed to you in writing, letter of engagement, then the application to the one lender whose rulebook fits. Your client page shows every step as it happens, and Max stays on the page for questions all the way to settlement.

Start with MaxOr send the enquiry form; the office runs the same way either door you use.

The office this month

What the machine drafted, and what the humans did with it.4

These are read from our own record when the page loads, not typed in. They are small numbers because this is a small office. We publish them so you can see the human is real.

4Conversations opened with Max, last 30 days
0Drafts written by the office
0Reviewed by a licensed broker
0Sent by a broker to a client or lender

The rule. A draft the office wrote cannot be sent until a licensed broker has clicked approve. The system refuses otherwise. Every draft keeps the broker's name, the decision and the time.

The humans on the licence

Two brokers who have heard your story before. Broker of the Year three times over.

Matt Punter ran a bank branch, built and sold a brokerage, then built TSC and Punters from Caloundra. Finsure Broker of the Year 2017, 2019 and 2021. Nick Hague built a sixteen year electrical business and has developed property since 2013; he knows what a self employed file looks like from the inside. Max and the office make them faster. They make Max and the office safe.

  • Licensed and accountablePunters Finance Solutions Pty Ltd is a credit representative under Australian Credit Licence 384704. Matt Punter and Nick Hague are the humans on the licence. Max is not licensed and does not act as if he were.
  • Every word human approvedThe office drafts. A broker reviews, edits, approves or deletes. The record keeps who decided what and when, on every file, every time.
  • Paid by the lender, told to you firstCommission on settlement, disclosed to you in writing in the Credit Proposal Disclosure before you commit. No fee to you unless agreed in writing.
  • Specialist now, prime laterA specialist loan is a stepping stone. When your history is clean and your income shows the usual way, TSC Mortgage Brokers in the same building moves you to a prime rate.

Before you start

The three questions everyone asks first.

Is Max a real broker?

No, and he will tell you so in his first sentence. Max is our AI customer service rep. He listens, explains the words, works out which of our brokers fits your situation and gets your file moving, day or night. He does not give credit advice, recommend a loan or a lender, or send anything to a lender. A licensed human broker does all of that, after reviewing what Max and the office prepared. If you would rather skip Max, call 1300 55 61 10 and a human answers in business hours.

Will a specialist loan cost more?

Usually, yes, by a margin that depends on the reason the bank said no. Recent defaults or a very short trading history cost more than a clean file with income that is just hard to document. Your broker shows you the rate, the fees and the all in cost side by side with what a bank would charge if it would lend, before you decide. The plan from day one is to refinance to a prime lender through TSC once your file allows it.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Every application a lender runs leaves an enquiry on your file, and several in a short period read badly. That is why we do not shotgun applications. Your broker picks one lender whose policy fits, gets the file right, and lodges once. We can check your credit report with you first so you know what a lender will see.

More on the FAQs page, in plain English.

Why the no is not the end

The bank reads your history. A specialist lender reads your story.

1 in 56Australian adults have a default, judgment or other negative event on their credit file
10+7specialist and non bank lenders on the panel, each with a different reading of the same file
100%8of office drafts pass through a licensed broker before anything reaches you or a lender

A default from three years ago, a business that is eighteen months old, income that lives in a company rather than a payslip: to a bank’s scorecard these are the same red flag. To a specialist lender they are three different files with three different answers. The skill is knowing which lender reads which story kindly this month, and sending it once, properly. That is what the office is for.

Case studies

Eight times the bank said no. Eight settlements.

Major bank clients

Disillusioned with a major bank

Long standing clients of a major bank, getting a little less each year for their loyalty. Reviewed the whole position, refinanced and restructured with a lender that priced them as they are today.

First home

Young couple buying their first home

Their own bank could not assist on the deposit history. A specialist lender read the savings pattern and the gift properly, and they settled on their first home.

Retirees

Self funded retirees in their early seventies

Looking to buy their own home on the Sunshine Coast. Age was the no at the bank; an exit strategy and the right lender was the yes.

Mid career

Established, fifteen working years left

A couple well set financially but structured for tax. Alt doc verification showed the real income and the loan followed.

Sixties

A new principal place of residence

A married couple in their sixties moving home. A plan the lender could see, a term that fit, settled.

Debt consolidation

Credit cards and personal loans

Both husband and wife carrying substantial personal debt. Consolidated into one repayment, hundreds a month freed up, credit on the mend.

Self employed

Reviewing the lending on a business

Existing self employed clients needing a broker who could read a complex position, including a commercial facility, and restructure it.

Equity release

Builders releasing equity to invest

Referred from a property investor network. Equity released from the home to fund the next investment, on alt doc income.
